International Conference on India Resilient @ 70 ?  Reform, Perform and Transform

A two-day International Conference was organized by Sadhu Vaswani Institute of Management Studies for Girls on 12th -13th January 2018. Speakers, across the globe were invited to present their views on the topic -India Resilient at 70? Reform, Perform and Transform.







The Conference was inaugurated by reading out the message by esteemed Dada J.P. Vaswani followed by lighting of the lamp by chief guest Mr. Haken Kingstedt, Chairman of Sweden-India Business Council. The Director, Dr. B. H. Nanwani welcomed Guests.







Day one was power packed with speakers like Mr. Tapas Piplai, Dr. Sanjay Mathrani, Dr. Ashok Swain, Mr. Aniruddha Gupte and Mr. Haken Kingstedt himself, throwing light upon what India has achieved at 70, what is left to be achieved and which direction India is heading now. Internet /technology being the biggest reform of the century, do we as a country have capitalized on this or are we stuttering with the smart phone revolution? The fate of the recent reforms in India would depend upon the performance young India makes now, was the key take- away from the day.

Day two had Mr. Rajan Navani, Managing Director Jetline Groups of Companies and Mr. Arun Nathani, CEO and Managing Director, Cybage Software Private limited interacting with the students and the participants sharing their knowledge and experience. Mr. Rajan also announced the formation of ‘Capability Enhancement Centre’- (Nurturing Leaders for New Business Skills). A cell specially designed for mentoring women for a leadership role at the corporate sector to be set up at the campus of Sadhu Vaswani Institute of Management Studies for Girls, as a prominent move for Industry academia collaboration.

This was followed by a session on India@70, education systems, pedagogical strategies and teaching methods by Dr. Anuradha Mathrani, Sr. Lecturer. Institute of Natural and Mathematical sciences, Massey University. The conference ended with panel discussion and paper presentation.
